TV Show - Alias

Alex Cross is the third novel in the Alex Cross series by Peter V Brett. The main character is a lawyer from Mississippi who knows all the secrets of the South. He specializes in motorcycle accidents, but he doesn't know that is a way to cheat death. Alex also has an aunt that is almost a witch. In this fast-paced adventure, Alex finds himself saving the world and his career. I would call it a fantasy whodunit, but you'll get to see what I mean.

The first scene with Alex is at a funeral for his grandmother. Several men are standing around talking, as if they were in the funeral. One of them asks Alex if he knows where the body is. Alex replies, "I think they threw it into a lake."

Alex and his partner, Jude "Jules" Delaine, are hired to find a missing girl called Jeanette. They meet the woman and her boyfriend, Steve "Steve "Greene," in a park. The two boys spend the afternoon with the girl's family. Then they go to a carnival and Steve gives them a tour. The next day, the body of a young woman is found in a ditch. While the police investigate, a press conference occurs in the local courthouse.

Steve, who knows of Alex's investigation, comes to the news conference. Before leaving the news conference, he tells the press that they have a person of interest in the case and ask that they keep it private. Steve knows that the press has a lot of sources so he releases the information. Two men named Tommy and Joe Collie has come forward and tells the story of how they knew the girl and boy were lovers. Collie kills the boys and attacks Alex with a knife.

After killing him, Tommy makes a full confession and tells the killer's mother what really happened. Alex goes back to the crime scene and finds Steve. They both realize that the two men have been set up and that there is a witness. They go back to the office, where the investigation continues.

When the case finally ends, a sketch of the man responsible for the crime is drawn. The police find the sketch and bring it to the defense. After a few arguments, the judge sentences one of the suspects to life imprisonment. A year later, at a funeral, the real killer commits suicide by stabbing himself in the heart.
