A Look At Alex Cross And His New Solo EP

Alex Cross is the lead singer of AC/DC.alex Together with their long-time bassist and vocalist, John Entwistle, they have created one of the most iconic and recognizable rock bands in the world. Their classic songs have been covered by countless artists, from the likes of Paul McCartney and Yusef Islam. One song that was recorded while the band was in rehearsal and never released is "Thunderstruck." With a classic blend of heavy riffs and a strong sense of energy, it was a classic AC/DC track that would go on to become a very popular single.

Now, Alex Cross will be premiering his debut solo album, Kinsey, which was recorded live at KOKO in San Francisco, California with producer Mark Raney. The album will be available for sale via iTunes on September 13th, but you can pre-order the entire album right now! Also, here's a sneak peek at what to expect from Alex and John's new music together:

The first single from Alex Cross's solo album, Kinsey, is called "X Factor." This twangy tune has a very familiar sound to it, especially when compared to some of Alex's previous efforts. In fact, some listeners might mistake Alex's voice for that of Rod Stewart. While the duo had never done a whole album before, they definitely bring the element of Rod Stewart and the classic rock sound of the seventies into their new solo effort.

The second single from the album, titled "Acey," takes place in the classic horror film, The Shining. The song was featured in the trailer for the movie as well, although it wasn't actually used in the film. While this doesn't necessarily make Alex Cross a horror film aficionado (as many of the artists associated with the band have been) the song does have a dark, ominous quality to it. Whether that's a good thing or not is entirely dependent upon your personal preference.

The last track on the new alex cross solo album, "X Factor," is also a collaboration between the band and American singer-songwriter, Amy Grant. Unlike "Acey," this collaboration actually took place in the studio. The song was actually played at a rehearsal for the band's debut album. There are several moments on that song where the band members actually start talking to each other, which is something they rarely do during their live shows. It's clear that they enjoyed the track enough that they wanted to use it on their upcoming second album.

If nothing else, it's evident that there will be a lot of great music from Alex Cross to come. With three singles already out (including the first solo ep), Cross has proven that their music is of the utmost quality. Even though their debut album didn't quite reach the heights (and praise) that they had hoped for, we can only hope that they will continue to create amazing music in the years to come. And now, with "Acey," the band seems set to continue to grow their fan base. While some die-hard fans might not like Alex Cross, they are unlikely to ignore him completely. In fact, if you're a fan of the band, you've probably already heard "Acey."
